Sneaky Monday.

My last Sneak Preview post was more than a month ago, but somehow I haven't managed to go see another one. Now I finally been to one with a friend last week.

When the film started we were full of anticipation after we read "Irish Film Board" as the makers of the movie. An Irish film? For us - as we're both crazy for Ireland - a dream. But actually...
Father James is a small-town priest in Ireland whose Sunday confessionals suddenly include a threat to kill him in a week's time as a matter of principle. Deeply troubled and conflicted about how to respond, Father James tries to go on with his calling through that week. However, that proves impossible as he is confronted with a troubling variety of spiritual challenges from both his estranged daughter and his own parishioners. In those dispiriting struggles, Father James' life begins to fall apart as time runs out towards a confrontation that seems to crystallize his values and what he wants his life to be.
That's the movie description of imdb.com. Unfortunately this film couldn't convince us at all, what's a real pity. You finally get the chance to watch an Irish movie and than it's such a bad one. The rating on imdb.com is quite good, but it's always a matter of how a single person sees it. For me, personal, I somehow missed some action. During the whole movie nothing really exciting is happening and the story is going on and on. One good thing about the movie is, that the landscape is really beautiful as the movie plays in County Sligo and this area of Ireland is a true beauty. But unfortunately landscapes alone doesn't make a good movie...

Have any of you seen this movie?
